Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Supervising Social Worker within the South Team to work full time based in the Southern region covering South East Sussex, South West Kent andparts of West Sussex.

The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is up to £36,900 per annum


Main duties:


  • Recruiting, supervising, training and supporting foster carers, their placements and support workers in the Southern reion covering South East Sussex, South West Kent and parts of West Sussex
  • Participate in negotiations between the client and placing authorities with respect to the placement of children with physical, learning disabilities and/or Autistic spectrum disorder (ASD)
  • Ensure that all agreements pertaining to the placement are completed and adhered to
  • To ensure that staff and carers are working within the requirements of the Fostering Regulations 2011 and the National Minimum Standards for Fostering Services 2011 (amended 2013)
  • To undertake initial home visits and Form F assessments
  • Provide ongoing support to carers and their birth children before, during and after placement
  • To attend the regional Fostering Panel as required
  • To ensure safeguarding children is paramount in your work
  • The post holder will be required to travel, dependent upon the needs of the service and therefore full access or ownership of a car is an essential requirement of the role
  • The post holder will be required to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service
  • Participate in the emergency 'Out of Hours' service (approx. once every 10 weeks)
  • Participate in the Social Worker Duty Rota during office hours as required
  • Maintain a professional image and standard of presentation both personally and corporately
  • Undertake any other duties at the request of the Directors, dependent upon the post holder's area of expertise, knowledge and skills, regarding the level of responsibility afforded by the post held
  • To work, at all times, in accordance within policies, procedures and ethos

Requirements of this Supervising Social Worker job:

  • A social work qualification or equivalent
  • Understanding of relevant legislation
  • Continual professional development
  • Social Work England registered
