JOB OVERVIEW


The purpose of this role is to support international students in non-academic areas at our study centre, such as reception, induction, registration, finance, visa support, accommodation, welfare, and well-being.

By responding to student queries quickly and effectively, you'll help ensure their full engagement with the course and contribute to the International Study Centre's overall objective of preparing international students to succeed at Royal Holloway University.

You'll collaborate with teams and stakeholders both inside and outside the International Study Centre to provide students with a positive experience during their time here.


ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Provide a consistent, accurate and friendly approach and act as a first point of contact for the International Study Centre Reception for visitors, students, and staff, identifying problems that lead to poor service and contributing to the review of this service.
  • Manage Study Group and Royal Holloway University systems and databases to ensure that student details (registration and contact details) are inputted accurately and efficiently.
  • Support the Centre's E-Champ and Advanced Practitioner ensuring the Virtual Learning Environment is developing throughout the academic year, with a specific focus on the Virtual Reception.
  • Assist and support with creating agendas, recording, and distributing minutes at Centre meetings.
  • Ordering stationery, and refreshments, arranging catering, and requesting visitor parking permits.
  • Provide general student services advice including local and travel information, help with opening bank accounts, issue confirmation letters, ID cards, letter requests, Student cards, complaints etc.
  • To manage credit control of student course fees, running weekly debtors lists, liaising and communicating with internal stakeholders regarding student's course fees. Communicating with students regarding outstanding course fees and payment deadlines.
  • Assist the Head of Student Experience with the planning and implementation of induction, ensuring a positive Student Experience is achieved.
  • Support the Centre's UKVI Visa Lead with compliance processes, including accurate record keeping, chasing outstanding documents and reporting Biometric Residency Permit errors.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's Degree (desirable)
  • Working in an administrative, frontofhouse role.
  • Working with international students
  • Working in a Higher Education or Further Education environment
  • Using data management systems.
