We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a
Senior FinanceBusiness Partner on a
fixed term basis for 12 months.

You'll act as a FinanceTransformation design lead for a keyfinancialplanning and forecastingproject, initially focussing on ourPropertyServicesoperational area of the business, which covers in excess of £100mof operational costs.


Based from our head office in Basingstoke, you'll combine home and office working to ensure a positive work / life balance.


The Role


Through business partnering withOperational teams, Finance, IT and Transformation teams, you'll
research, design and deliver a reshaped planning and forecasting process to drive a more streamlined and efficient process, enhance financialinsights and highlight efficiency savings across Sovereign.


You'll work with the Project Manager, Business Analyst, FP&A and business partnering teams to lead the scoping of businessrequirements for the new planning and forecasting tool (IBM PlanningAnalytics), identifyingbusiness drivers and seeing the project throughto implementation, with the PropertyServices module of the tool being a key initial focus.


Other keyresponsibilities include:

  • Defining the keybusiness drivers and other data points to be used for providing the financial rolling forecast and yearly budget for PropertyServices, focusing on Repairs
  • Inputting into specificationrequirements for the IBM PlanningAnalytics tool to be used for planning and forecasting, ensuring the specification is an accurate reflection of the requirements
  • Workingcollaborativelywith the PropertyServices team and Customer Portfolioproject team, to identifykeyoperational metrics that can be used for financialplanning and forecasting
  • Being the keyFinancerepresentative for the endtoend repairs project, providing input and advice on Financerequirements and identifyingdependencies
  • Ensuring alignment with other Transformation projects, such as Source to Pay
  • Play an active role with the design of crossfunctional process and data requirements by attending and, where appropriate hosting, cross functional workshops.
  • Collaboratingwithstakeholdersat all levels to C-Suite, to fully understand the keybusiness performance issues, objectives and drivers and associatedfinancialrequirements for both current and future businesschallenges

What we're looking for
You'll be an experienced senior FinanceBusiness Partner with a track record of working in senior FinancialPlanning & Analysis roles. You'll also have extensive experience working on transformation projects involving data analysis and business driver modelling.


You'll also:

  • Be a qualified Accountant, ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent post graduate accounting qualification, withsignificant post qualification experience
  • Have experience in manging critical transformationfinance projects, leading the full lifecycle of the project from design to delivery
  • Have advanced problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills at all levels
  • Be highly numerate and computer literate, with strong Excel modelling skills
  • Have strong, clear working knowledge of processes and controls surrounding budgeting, forecasting and management account preparation, including detailed report writing and analysis
  • Previous experience working in a housing association or for a propertyservices, development or customer focused firm would be highly advantageous
  • A good understanding of relevant legislation and accounting principles for Housing Associations (SORP) would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Any knowledge of IBM PlanningAnalytics (or similar tool), Agresso/Unit4 Accounting system, job costing systems and other reporting tools e.g., Power BI would be advantageous
