Assistant Psychologist - Forensic inpatient

Assistant Psychologist (Learning Disabilities Speciality) - 37.5hrs per week (1.0 WTE) -

What are we looking for
- We are looking for enthusiastic Psychology Graduates to contribute to the promotion of psychological, emotional and behavioural wellbeing of adults with a learning disability referred to our service._
Responsible for recognising the potential for or signs of client harm, abuse or neglect, including poor clinical practice, reporting all such concerns and taking all reasonable steps to protect the client.
Under the supervision of an Applied Psychologist, supports the development of psychological formulation and intervention plans for individual clients and/or their carers.
Under the supervision of an Applied Psychologist, implements psychological interventions for individual clients, carers, families and groups.
Under the supervision of an Applied Psychologist, to develop resources and materials to support the delivery of the service.
To maintain appropriate records by adding to the patient's clinical notes and to provide written reports of psychological assessments and interventions.
Working for our organisation
In these roles you will be key part of our wider multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and psychiatrists.
We work closely with our psychology colleagues within the rest of the Black Country Trust and with the local Doctorate courses.
Working as part of an effective and highly motivated multi-disciplinary team, with an essential commitment to multi-disciplinary working, you will receive regular supervision and support to develop your knowledge and experience and further your career.
Many previous assistant psychologists have successfully applied to the local doctorate courses and the role also offers the opportunity to work alongside current trainees on placement with us in the Black Country.

Person specification
Essential and desirable
Essential criteria
- 2:1 Degree in Psychology
- Experience of conducting research, service evaluation or audit
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities or complex needs
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working
Desirable criteria
- Further qualifications relevant to the post
- Awareness of risk assessment and risk management relevant to the role
- Experience of conducting psychometric assessments

£25,147.00-£27,596.00 per year
