Senior Manager, Unsecured Personal Loans

We're seeking a Senior Manager - Head of Unsecured Personal Loans for our WPB Retail Credit Risk Team.

As a GCB4, the Senior Manager will be responsible for:

  • Accountable for changes to strategy within Unsecured Personal Loans to assist WPB to drive good customer outcomes, achieve improvement in loan impairment charge and operational efficiency (cost).
  • Developing and defining new value added segmentation strategies using advanced statistical / analytical techniques.
  • Lead the Risk innovation team to test and push new boundaries of data usage and strategy development, to support with developing an innovative future strategy and translating this into an actionable delivery plans
  • Provide SME support and model user sponsorship of Credit model developments
  • Maximise the potential from all Loans Strategy colleagues through support on personal and professional development
  • Line management responsibilities of staff and teams including the appraisal of staff performance
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • You will be self-motivated, customer focussed with an ability to solve complex problems with an eye for detail and accuracy, whilst still ensuring that the bigger picture is taken into consideration.
  • Excellent knowledge of the credit life cycle, and understand the market positioning of HSBC products.
  • Have a working knowledge of analytical and mathematical techniques gained through professional experience.
  • Proven experience of leading larger analytical and strategy teams within risk teams, either within HSBC or a similar organisation
  • Proven ability in functional/business management, working across multidisciplinary and multicultural environments
  • Proven experience with Portfolio management and Credit strategy at manager level or above
  • Ability to present complex statistical concepts and results in a way tailored to the audience in a persuasive and compelling way.
  • Ability to influence and motivate other managers and staff, with relevant management experience gained from working in a dynamic environment.
