Applications are welcome for the above fixed term (12 months), full time (40 hours per week) post based in Royal Edinburgh Hospital.


Applications are invited for this novel
_ _1 year fixed term specialty post with a 50:50 split between supporting clinical mental health services in Lothian, and the design and delivery of simulation-based learning opportunities within NHS Lothian with a psychiatric focus.


It is an exciting time for simulation-based learning at the site, with plans for a bespoke simulation suite at an advanced stage.

We would envision the post holder working closely with the MED team on site to design, deliver and evaluate simulation-based learning activities across the site.

We are keen to for the successful applicant to continue delivering inter-professional simulation on site, as well as supporting undergraduate medical student and postgraduate simulation in psychiatry.


From a clinical perspective, the post holder will join well-established departments with a high degree of support from colleagues including consultants, specialty doctors, higher trainees and junior doctors.

Input into a number of clinical services are available, depending on interest, and include Adult, Old Age and Substance misuse.

There will be opportunities for either in-patient or community clinical sessions.

The post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.
