We are looking for a new Veterinary Care Assistant to join our ambitious team and journey of success.

This is a permanent role working 40 hours per week plus 1:4 Saturdays no bank holidays or Sundays.

Our work pattern consists of a 4 day working week, Monday - Friday from 8:00 -6:30 pm and a day in lieu when you work a Saturday.

We work 8:30 - 17:00 on Saturdays.


As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will first and foremost be providing a friendly, efficient and professional service to our clients on the reception desk, answering phone calls and being the first point of contact for our clients and their pets.

You will also at points be supporting our clinical team to provide outstanding care to our patients, involving walking and feeding patients, restraining animals and performing general cleaning, maintenance and administrative duties.

You will need to be able to work well both within a team and independently, sometimes under high pressure.

Whilst previous veterinary receptionist experience is preferred but not essential, exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills are vital.

Day to day duties would include:

  • Answering the telephone, booking appointments and processing prescription requests
  • Dealing with clients at the reception desk, taking payments and handling enquiries
  • Assisting with insurance claim processing and answering insurance based queries
  • Accurately recording client and animal information on our IT system, so good IT skills would be preferable
  • Occasionally restraining animals, feeding and walking patients
  • Cleaning, administrative and general maintenance duties
