This role is based in the United Kingdom and as such all normal working days must be carried out in the United Kingdom.

Join us as a Sub Ledger Finance Lead

  • Join us in Sub Ledger Finance where you'll work alongside the business and change teams on delivery of the sub ledger strategy and implementation
  • We'll look to you to proactively establish and maintain strong working relationships with key customers and stakeholders, and the wider Finance team
  • As a key member of our team, you'll enjoy extensive collaboration and can expect great visibility for you and your work
  • This role is available for a period of 12 months and we offer a hybrid way of working where you'll be based in our Edinburgh office at least two days a week, with the rest of your time working from home

What you'll do:

As a Sub Ledger Finance Lead, you'll ensure successful implementation of the project within the project timelines. You'll consider the current operating model suggesting and leading the implementation of the new model within FRC.

Shaping the strategy and operating model for FRC, you'll make sure that key Finance and wider stakeholders are engaged in the change.

You'll also ensure that all key project deliverables are met, and the delivery meets Finance needs.

Through the course of your work, you'll:

  • Consider and escalate the adequacy and effectiveness of the business's controls
  • Provide sound analytical reviews, challenges and analysis to customers
  • Negotiate the delivery of daytoday and ad hoc outputs, and deal with nondelivery issues as and when they arise
  • Act as the key customer relationship manager between the business area, Finance and wider stakeholders
  • Initiate continuous improvement to automate and streamline financial control activities within this process

The skills you'll need:

To succeed in this role, you'll bring extensive post-qualification experience in a finance environment, including delivery of change, preferably in the financial services industry or medium to large corporates.

You'll have experience of working at a senior management level, with multiple reporting lines across a global matrix environment. We'll also look for the ability to facilitate optimal use of key finance technologies such as Oracle.

We'll look to you to bring:

  • Experience of providing senior management and executives with detailed financial information
  • The ability to identify, build and enhance key relationships and challenge as needed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management
  • The ability to deliver key project milestones with high quality outputs to tight deadlines
