Duties/Responsibilities:


EMCOR UK are offering a Full Time Permanent opportunity for a Fixed Electrical Testing Co-Ordinator to join our technical team at GSK Stevenage Research Campus.

This opportunity would be a natural step up for an experienced Electrical Engineer (HV/LV AP) to take on supervisory role.

Job Purpose:

To co-ordinate and lead site teams and contractors to deliver:

  • A department that is compliant with all regulatory and statutory requirements required by EMCOR UK & GSK including but not limited to quality, health & safety, environmental and management of electrical testing of plant and equipment for all building services operations
  • Maximum availability of engineering assets and equipment utilising safe, efficient, planned testing service and fault resolution.
  • Ensure personnel under your control are fully competent and trained to undertake their tasks and engage in regular communications with staff and users

Duties:


  • To be an example in conduct and behaviour to those you interact with. Foster relationships with colleagues and staff in line with GSK & EMCOR UK values.
To represent EMCOR UK in a positive manner and comply with any company wide or site-based requirements.

  • To manage the workload for FET including assigning and scheduling tasks / checking on quality and quantity of work carried out.
  • Ensure the team consistently carry out their duties to EMCOR UK & GSK standards and comply in regard to engineering excellence, health safety and environmental standards as well as Company policies and procedures. This would include GES, SOPs, processes, along with any adopted procedures.
  • The Fixed electrical test lead would be expected to be an HV/LV Authorised Person in one or more disciplines to which suitable allowances will be paid.
  • Ensure availability of plant and equipment to drive efficiently and reliably operation at all times
  • Where required raise projects for Electrical Danger Notices remedials
  • Ensure asset information is accurate and up to date. To make recommendations for changes where required and fully engage in the LCAM process.
  • Raising and issuing of Business Impact Assessments and Operational Occurrence Reports (OOR's) where situations that deviate from the expected and found during test and inspection activities on equipment, systems and utilities, which could affect product quality.
  • To carry out engineering tasks related to testing and inspection work activities.
  • Recognise spares requirements, liaise with Electrical SME or EMCOR Technical Operations Managers to order spares and update stock items as necessary.
  • Be fully aware of Service Level Agreements between EMCOR UK and GSK to ensure its requirements are met.
  • Develop impact assessments and general permit to works
  • Analyse the testing and inspection data: adjust and optimize maintenance routines based on historical trends
  • Review and monitor all staff and suppliers who service electrical systems ensuring they are trained and competent
  • Perform routine management monitoring to measure site program effectiveness
  • Coordination and resource collaboration for building shutdown
  • Coordinate the update for drawings and operational manuals
  • Proactive engagement in capital projects and site minor work when planning works
  • Familiarisation of the building portfolio, supporting plant, systems and core business process equipment to ensure technical competency as part of the technical team
  • Assistance in the preparation of estimates / quotations as required.
  • Where applicable hold the responsibility for allocated work orders from receipt to completion.
  • To attend technical seminars and training courses as appropriate.

Resource Responsibilities:


  • To be the direct report and take responsibility for subcontractors working in your designated areas, including but not limited to Issuing/approving permits, providing hosting duties, ensuring RAMS/necessary paperwork is correct.
  • Maintain / undertake Leadership training suitable for your level.

Person Specification:


Skills:


  • Demonstrable evidence of relevant technical qualifications.
  • Good IT skills including Word, Excel Micro soft project and Power Point.
  • A good level of interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and communication skills. Ability to work to time constraints and prioritise tasks according to the needs of the business.
  • Good leadership, motivational and communication skills are required.
  • Innovative and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Strong customer skills are required.
The ability to communicate at all levels is essential.

  • Qualified to City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent NVQ & C&G th Edition Minimum requirements
  • C&G Inspection & Testing, & C&G Design & Verification preferred but not required
  • Qualified to ONC or equivalent including C&G 2400 Design, Erection and Verification of Electrical Installation
  • 5 years +
