Description
Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Laboratory Technician for our client based in Lincolnshire. They have been established for over 40 years and have an international presence.

If you have recently graduated or have a few years of laboratory experiencein industry, this could be the ideal role for you.


Hours:
Monday - Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, with occasional Saturdays during busy periods


Salary:
£24k - £26k p/annum

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment, stock control, ordering laboratory supplies and general laboratory duties
  • Collection, preparation and chemical analysis of samples
  • Evaluation or raw materials
  • Documenting, checking and reporting test results.
  • Labelling and storing samples
  • Preparing reagents
  • Project work to improve product performance and to identity reasons for product failure
  • Overseeing the Laboratorywhen the supervisor is on annual leave or away
  • Following good laboratory practice

Qualifications, experience and skills required

  • A degree of HND in Chemistry / Chemical Science with general chemistry knowledge
  • Experience of chemical analysis and any analytical techniques such as ICP, XRF, AAF, HPLC would be an advantage
  • Due to location, it is essential that you have a driving licence with access to a car
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Self motivation with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
