Your New Role:
We have an amazing opportunity for a Fixed Term Highways Technician to join our Staffordshire County Council account in Stoke-on-Trent.
We deliver infrastructure services across 6,000KM of Staffordshire by providing maintenance to road, cycle routes, bridges, tunnels, lighting, drainage, traffic signals, trees, and land.
By carrying out such works we aim to improve and provide effective highways services for the local residents and communities of Staffordshire.
A highways Technician plays an important part in supporting and assisting team in all relevant aspects of highway services.The standard hours of work are 40 per week.

You will be responsible for:
- Assist in the preparation of reports and documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Attend meetings and actively contribute by sharing ideas and opinions.
- Provide support in project administration, including organising project timelines and maintaining records.
- Coordinate additional projects as needed, demonstrating strong organisational skills.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to achieve project goals and deliverables.
- Take initiative to identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest innovative solutions.
- Prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines consistently.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in handling changing priorities.
- Conduct research and analyse data to support project strategies.
- Problemsolve and think critically to overcome obstacles and achieve project objectives.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Planning and organisation skills
- Problem solving skills
- IT literate
- Good all round project management knowledge
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and be able to manage stakeholders at all levels.
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have experience in SAP or Integra finance systems to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
