N81- Low Carbon City Officer Role Profile


Plymouth City Council's Net Zero Delivery Team is looking for a self-motivated and highly organized individual to help us manage the installation of electric vehicle charge points across the city.


You will be responsible for:

  • Development of a delivery plan to meet the objectives of the Council's emerging strategy for the roll out of electric vehicle charge points.
  • Working closely with partners to coordinate construction and the installation of electric vehicle charge points at numerous sites.
  • Bid writing and submission to support future low carbon initiatives.


You will working within the City Council's Net Zero Delivery Team, which is responsible for delivering projects that will shape Plymouth's ability to secure radical reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and provide resilience to the impacts of climate change.


The primary focus of the team is:

  • Delivering projects that positively impact on climate change, fuel poverty, renewable energy and energy efficiency.
  • Securing external funds to deliver projects that provide real reductions in greenhouse gases.
  • Providing a center of excellence for low carbon policy and project delivery.
  • A track record of delivering similar projects.
  • Experience with successfully securing external funding.
  • Extensive knowledge around low carbon technologies to further the team's reputation for innovation and action in this space.
