This is a fantastic opportunity for a flexible and versatile Democratic Services Officer to take up a vital role which also is a great opportunity to help support and shape service provision for Epping Forest District Council.


Working with us


The Democratic Services Team is a small, but hard-working team of friendly professionals with a range of skills and experience in Democratic and Electoral Services.


Your role
The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the Council's Committees and Governance procedures. Flexibility is important as the role will involve working outside of normal working hours.

The role of Democratic Services Officer will support meetings of the Council's Committees.

It will also include, providing constitutional advice to Officers, Councillors and other stakeholders.


The role will also require liaising with Senior Officers and Members to ensure agendas and reports are submitted in line with legislated time frames.

The successful applicant will manage the work programmes for their committees.


Flexibility is essential, and we need a collaborator that is capable and confident enough to work on their own initiative.


Training will be given in the Council's Committee Management system if required, but a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes is expected.


In addition, you will be expected to adhere to the Council's values and behaviours of Trust, One Team, Performance, Innovation and Customer; and to work collaboratively across the organisation to bring about change and improvements to service delivery.
