  • 09Jun2023 Barker Ross Group are currently recruiting for a Customer Services Assistant to be based within the Crook Civic Centre for Durham County Council.
  • The role is looking to start as soon as possible and will be temporary until the end of March 2024 initially. The position will be full time working Monday to Friday with a pay rate of £10.79 per hour.
  • The purpose of the role is to be the first point of contact for all customers, service users and stakeholders dealing with customer enquiries on all aspects of business within the remit of customer services and partnership services.
  • Additional duties will include:
  • Provide accurate information on all council and partner services on both routine and complex issues
  • Front line service through face to face, telephone, selfservice and ebased contacts
  • Deal effectively with customer service requests, answering queries and giving advice
  • Scheduling appointments for customers where necessary
  • Maintain up to date records to provide the effective processing of service requests, enquiries and complaints


In order to be considered for this role the successful post holder will need to have administration/customer service experience, PC literate and a competent user of MS Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook as well as the ability to converse at ease with customers.
