, permanent**RWE is looking to fill a position as Head of Renewables Regulatory Affairs Europe & APAC. The mission of RWE's Renewables Regulatory Affairs department is to identify the risks and opportunities from policy & regulatory developments in Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind, and PV (incl. adjacent technologies, e.g., Offshore Hydrogen) in Europe and APAC and to create, maintain, and deliver RWE's positioning in renewables regulation to conduct effective lobbying. The Renewables Regulatory Affairs function in RWE is an important advisor to the RWE Onshore & PV Europe & Australia and RWE Offshore Wind Boards.


Your future plans

International leadership position:Lead and develop an international department consisting of five regional teams and over 35 Regulatory Affairs Managers covering 15+ different countries in Europe & APAC

Team development:Further develop the function, ensure people development of the team members and foster cooperation and learning across the department

Sparring's partner and innovator:Act as innovator and sparring's partner for the team leads and work closely together with the Director of the Strategy, Reg. Affairs & Business Transformation function; shape the agenda for the Renewables Regulatory Affairs team, incl. identification of key agenda items and continuous improvement projects

Regulatory intelligence provider:Distill regulatory intelligence into key messages, summarize major new regulations and political developments, incl. implications thereof, and provide resulting recommendations to the senior management team and the boards of RWE Offshore Wind and RWE Onshore Wind & PV Europe & Australia and to the business functions

Regulatory foresight master:Anticipate potential risks due to market regulatory framework changes, media and public opinion for project development and potential acquisitions early on; ability to identify and prioritize highest impact topics in a highly collaborative regulatory environment, where you are presented with regulatory changes on a daily basis

Regulatory agenda shaper:Set and deliver RWE's regulatory agenda in renewables together with the team leads of the department and the business functions to produce targeted and convincing regulatory positions

Spider in the web:Work constructively in a collaborative team environment with different functions within RWE Offshore Wind and RWE Onshore & PV Europe & Australia (e.g., development, commercial) as well as within the whole RWE Group to ensure a unified external positioning

Advocate:Advocate for RWEs positions externally in associations and with regulatory and political stakeholders to improve the regulatory landscape effectively contributing to RWE's success in our target markets; prepare RWE Offshore Wind and RWE Onshore & PV Europe & Australia board members for political events and conferences


Your profile
-
Long-term professional experience in the energy sector , specifically in policy and regulatory affairs or energy economics; exposure to issues relevant to renewable energy development and general knowledge of energy market regulation

Outstanding university degree within the field of economics, law, politics or any other field relevant for the job
-
Long-standing experience in heading large teams in an international context , i.e. enhanced leadership and interpersonal skills and a great team orientation
-
Extensive stakeholder management experience ; with a proven track record of orchestrating and establishing working processes in large organizations (e.g., involving stakeholders from country to business unit to Group level) or managing large, cross-functional projects

  • Flawless
    topdown communications skills with the ability to synthesize complex topics into simple messages; experience in preparing pointed speeches, key messages, etc.

Very high negotiation skills with the ability to persuade through consensus building as well as very high presentation and communication skills in general

Resilience and ability to navigate in a highly collaborative environment with regularly changing priorities; positive demeanor even when facing setbacks
