Contract to start on until with a possible extension.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To support the development and coordination of the operational implementation of the EHCP review process.
  • To carry out and maintain accurate and timely records and work processes in the team including use of relevant IT systems.
  • To undertake the role of SEN Review Officer by:
Actively working with parents/carers, children, young people and families to explain about EHC review process and guide them through the process

Attending reviews for children and young people with EHCPs, as required o

Writing and amending EHC plans

  • Work closely with families, schools and a range of service providers, including education, health, social care and voluntary sectors.
  • Ensure that the client complies with the statutory timetable for the completion of statutory reviews.
  • Support the facilitation of meaningful, personcentred reviews of existing Education, Health and Care Plans.
  • Model best practice in accordance with part 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the supporting code of practice.

Qualifications:


  • Educated to degree standard Knowledge & Skills:
  • Knowledge of part 3 Children & Families Act 2014, subordinate legislation and supporting code of practice
  • Understanding of SEN issues as they affect parents, children, young people and educational settings
  • Effective organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise the workload of self and act on initiative
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Skills in using relevant IT systems effectively
  • Good problemsolving skills
  • Willingness to commit to open and constructive multi agency working and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of the client group of children and parents/carers Experience:
  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEN, and their families
  • Experience of preparing reports and/or personcentred plans
  • Experience of multiagency and partnership working
  • Experience of managing a caseload
  • Experience of supporting the development and implementation of multiagency processes

Salary:
£16.57 per hour
