Main purpose of role:
This role will follow approved company procedures to maintain stock levels and ensure all incoming and outgoing stock/goods/equipment, etc is handled safely and logged accurately in the company or customer systems.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Receive all incoming goods according to procedure; this will involve loading and unloading items ensuring storage areas are maintained in a neat, tidy and safe condition always.
- Ensure goods delivered are accurate in quantity, match certification and delivery note.
- Ensure the preparation of goods manifests in line with internal requisitions and client requirements.
- Ensure stock levels are recorded accurately and goods received notes are accurate; update company/customer systems as required.
- Ensure stock is deducted from completed work orders accurately and on time.
- Despatch stock to workshops and other departments with all correct packaging, certification, documentation and signage/placards (hazardous and nonhazardous) as required.
- Liaise with customer and vendor representatives regarding incoming and outgoing goods
- Liaise with Hire / Project Team on any queries regarding quantity, condition or quality of goods delivered to site.
- Document and hold rejected goods in quarantine until further instructions are received from the relevant department
- Responsible for ensuring tasks are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with applicable company procedures
- Act as an ambassador for safety demonstrating safe behaviours
- The job holder may be required to carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely according to changing business requirements.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of stock control
- Proficient in MS Office and the Company operated software and systems.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail, working to high standards.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Numeracy and literacy skills.
- Organisational skills, ability to work to a schedule and achieve deadlines.
Qualifications and certification:
- SVQ2 Warehousing, Storage and Distribution (desirable)
Experience:
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in a workshop environment.
Personal qualities:
- Good working attitude, reliable and punctual.
- Able to work well under own initiative and as part of a team.
Salary:
£28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
