Job overview

We are seeking to appoint 1 full-time permanent Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Nottingham University Hospitals. We have created this post to match the increasing local and regional demand for MSK imaging.

The successful applicants will share responsibility with 8 other colleagues for the provision of all aspects of MSK imaging in our Trust with possible future expansion to the Trusts within the regional network.

They will be expected to collaborate with the rest of the department to maintain and enhance a comprehensive MSK radiology service and support / develop provision of Regional Sarcoma and Local Oncology, Orthopaedics and Sports services and trauma.

The appointees will also be part of a wider team of consultant radiologists providing sub-specialty and general radiological services across the Trust.

We are a Level 1 Trauma Centre and have a large oncology and spinal practice.

Main duties of the job

To provide, along with Consultant colleagues, a comprehensive elective and emergency on-call service related to MSK Radiology.

The post includes sessions for reporting time for Plain Film, MRI and CT, performing ultrasound and fluoroscopy/US/CT guided procedures and participation in multidisciplinary meetings.

The post will be primarily located at the Queen's Medical Centre campus although the successful applicant will be required to provide sessions at the sites where we provide an MSK Radiology service.

A successful applicant would be required to be part of a dedicated MSK on call rota, which will have a frequency of 1:9.
