Salary:
£23,691 pa


Contract:
Permanent, Full Time


Hours: 37 per week (Part time/ Job share considered)

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic student activities co-ordinator.


Student Activities Co-ordinator - The Role:
To co-ordinate and provide ongoing support for student societies, including media societies, fundraising groups & activities (RAG). Research, book and promote Give It a Go Activities and Skills Development Programme.

Work with the Marketing and Communications Team to develop communications plans for all student activities projects.


Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Support and assist student volunteers organising, promoting and delivering events and activities that support student engagement
  • Ensure the Society committee training portal is up to date
  • Deal with inperson and online enquiries in a professional manner.
  • Manage and maintain the society accreditation scheme
  • Proactively set up new societies
  • Ensure all society & group committees and members are aware of, and adhere to, all relevant regulations including risk assessments, University of Brighton external speakers' policy and food hygiene.
  • Provide inperson training for committee members as requested.
  • Plan, book and promote 'Give It a Go' activities that are relevant and accessible for students.
  • Maintain a register of all Give it a Go and Skills Development Programme attendees.
  • Attend and Evaluate events and or activities
  • Supporting volunteers in delivering their aims

Student Activities Co-ordinator - Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Experience of the voluntary sector and an awareness of issues surrounding volunteering
  • Organising, promoting & developing campaigns and events including preparation of resources
  • Involvement in extracurricular activity e.g. society, sports, media, representative, volunteering, etc.

Experience of the following an advantage: Volunteering, Fundraising, Activities planning, Team building, Marketing, Customer Service, Hospitality
