Description
Fixed Term until 31/03/25

Here in Sunderland, we are diversifying how we help and support people who become homeless.

We have realigned the Housing Options Team to ensure the team is well placed to meet the needs of all people who are street homeless and those threatened with homelessness.

We will work to ensure that all are given the opportunity to move to and sustain independent living.

For many this journey is not a straight line, therefore we have increased the team and have added more diverse roles to ensure people are supported at every stage of their journey to a safe and secure home.

An opportunity has arisen for somebody to join our team with a desire to support vulnerable homeless people in Sunderland as a Tenancy Sustainment Officer as part of the Rough Sleeping Initiative.

The Tenancy Sustainment Officer will support people to either; maintain their current tenancy and preventing homelessness, and/or to maintain a new tenancy offered at the end of their 'homeless journey'.

You will provide and coordinate support to assist those at risk of homelessness and rough sleeping to maintain accommodation.

The role will also play a key part in building relationships with private landlords and looking at bringing landlords on board.

You should also possess a supportive, patient, but determined nature and have a passion for supporting homeless and vulnerable people to enhance their lives and aid their journey to independent living.

You should be creative and hold excellent negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills.

Please note that CVs are not acceptable.
