An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Stirling area for a Security Operations Controller, Located at a new location in Stirling.


Job Overview


To play an active role in monitoring and responding to the various alarms from national sites and monitor/operate the access control system, as part of the security team's responsibilities for protecting and safeguarding the wider client's sites and staff.


  • Proactively monitor news feeds and alerts for terrorist attacks, mass transport disruption and natural disasters in the areas where client have interests, and reporting, escalating and accounting for staff as required.
  • Keeping all logs up to date, checking all the security systems for faults and seeing them through to resolution.
  • Active role in incident response includes coordinating the various teams/clients to respond to fire alarms, intruder alarms, security or safety breaches in a manner that maintains a secure and safe environment for visitors, staff and contractors.
  • This role requires responsibility for all occurrences within the control room as and when they occur across the client's wider portfolio of sites and the incumbent will be accountable for their actions taken.
  • To deliver the day to day operational SOC requirements of the contract in line with customer and contractual expectations by working in partnership with the site security team.
  • This includes day to day responsibility of operating and managing the National Security Operations Centre
  • To be the initial support contact on operational security matters, ensuring a consistent quality service delivery and prompt responses to all incidents.
  • Cover the SOC Supervisor role in the SOC as and when required (following upskilling training).

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage control room activity and systems. Key emphasis is placed on access control.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures set by client and Securigroup are adhered across the contract.
  • Record daily events/requests/actions in the logs and systems as provided.
  • Communicate events to the Security team members, Security Management, Client and Client staff for and to the wider national sites.
  • Investigate & escalate all complaints, putting in place corrective measures to prevent a reoccurrence.
  • Be the key operator in the National SOC, delivering the SOC operations and all the functions of the SOC.
  • To actively support Health and Safety objectives by responding to all emergencies in accordance with procedures and to play an integral part in the safe evacuation/invacuation of visitors, staff, and contractors to minimise any risk.
  • To play an integral role in any emergency situation in coordinating responses, including first aid incidents.
  • Actively monitor all security systems in the SOC and respond to any alerts/alarms to ensure secure coverage of the client's premises, assets and staff
  • Reactive CCTV monitoring.
  • To contribute toward the maintenance of a clean, welcoming environment for visitors.
  • Other SOC related tasks as set out in the assignment instructions.
  • Operating in line with the Data Protection Act and CCTV COP BS 7958:201
  • Follow through on the client's Staff Safety Procedure, which involves: o The monitoring of Security Alerts across the national sites which could affect travellers or client sites nationally o Analysing the information for impact and escalating it as required o Running the Staff Accounting Procedure and reporting to senior management
  • To support the deployment of the Security Team by way of planning, coordination, allocation and shifting resources to where they are required.
  • To raise the profile of security ensuring that customers are well informed at all times of procedures and processes.
  • To undertake any other tasks as identified by the Security Manager, SOC Supervisor or Client being for the good and benefit of the service to the customer.
  • Any other duties deemed to be appropriate or necessary to the post.
  • Work in partnership with service partners and customers' representatives, ensuring all aspects of site Security and Health & Safety requirements are effectively managed.
  • Assist the SOC Supervisor in reviewing, devising and compiling standard operating procedures and scenario tests.
  • Escalate any issues that may impact business as usual for the client.
  • To monitor contractor's adherence to safety thereby reducing the risk of accidents.
  • To investigate matters of concern reported by staff.
