The Property & Facilities Team at Edinburgh Napier University deliver a first-class service to over 1,500 staff and nearly 20,000 students.


Our focus is on managing the University's key facilities, including maintaining the Estate, Energy and Sustainability, the Facilities Service Desk, Security, Cleaning, Logistics, Print Services, Engage, Catering Services, Conference management and Student Accommodation.


We are constantly striving to improve our customer service across all Campuses and Accommodation sites and set ourselves challenging targets to measure our success.


As such, we are currently recruiting a
Logistics and Facilities Team Leader to take responsibility for the provision of an efficient Logistics service across the University Estate.


The Role:


The role of Logistics and Facilities Team leader will give you the opportunity to use your extensive experience of working in logistics/facilities management to effectively lead and direct the work of the Logistics Team across the University Estate to ensure an optimum service, focusing on the delivery of a planned provision and excellent customer service.


Having also previously led high performing teams, you will be in an excellent position to use your confident communication style and ability to mobilise people in a positive way, to ensure that work is carried out accordingly, make sure that software systems and standard operating procedures are followed and regularly updated using the Estates Management System, whilst ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety, legal and statutory requirements.


We expect that you will be used to working to high standards, so this role will allow you to instil your positive values across the wider team, taking responsibility for the safe and efficient distribution and storage of goods across the Estate, ensuring staff rotas are planned accordingly and University health and safety compliance is adhered to, including all relevant H&S training to ensure compliance with ISO45001.


The post will also see you initiating, building and maintaining positive working relationships internally and externally, collaborating at all levels with academic and professional services colleagues within the University.


Furthermore, it will allow you to raise the professional profile of the service with your stakeholders by giving you the opportunity to shape and mould a team that is absolutely essential to the University operation.


What we will need from you:

  • Experience of leading a high performing team focused on excellent customer service
  • Experience of Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems, reporting and working alongside Service Desks (desirable)
  • Confidence and ability to motivate with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to plan and coordinate rotas
  • A strong knowledge of health and safety legislation regulations applicable to Logistics/Facilities Management
  • Ability to work on own initiative and effectively prioritise a varied and demanding workload
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).

Salary:
£29,605 - £36,024 per annum (Grade 4)
