**Interim HR Business Partner

Our client, a well-respected NHS organisation in South Devon, is looking for a People Hub Service Manager to come on board on a temporary basis for an initial - 6 month contract that is likely to be extended to work strategically in support of an IntegratedService Unit (ISU) supporting the delivery of the Trust's People Plan within your area of responsibility.

You will provide proactive, professional guidance to senior managers on a range of workforce and OD issues.

South Devon (Hybrid Remote)


Hours:37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)


Length of Contract: - 6 Months +


Hourly Rate:
£29.84 -£31.88 via Umbrella

Day to Day Duties:


  • Act as an internal consultant to ISUs, taking a proactive role in enabling service redesign, assessing workforce risks and workforce remodelling
  • Lead on the development of People Directorate priorities for your ISU
  • Support the implementation of the robust workforce plans for all staff groups within your ISU
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of talent management and succession planning processes in order to enable a balance of in house skills and external expertise
  • Proactively identify themes and trends which indicate concerns about culture, leadership or staff engagement, using appropriate OD diagnostics and interventions
  • Work with the Organisational Development team in the delivery of bespoke interventions
  • Assess current and future leadership requirements and skills within your ISU and contribute to the delivery of Leadership programmes and the Trust's People Plan
  • Coach managers in developing and implementing local staff engagement initiatives and action plans
  • Actively implement proactive strategies to support compliance with workforce metrics using external benchmarks to inform and achieve best practice
  • Ensure your ISU and its teams, are provided with accurate and timely workforce information and analysis to support the performance management of your ISU, to identify and mitigate risks and escalate issues where required
  • Support your ISU to manage workforce risks in their area using workforce and clinical quality data information to drive and influence change
  • Use a Quality Improvement (QI) approach to ensure, new ways of working and continuous improvement of the service within your ISU
  • To work with ISU's/corporate leadership teams to develop, based on local information and need, localised objectives to deliver 'Our People Promise and Plan.

Essential Skills:


  • Educated to a Master's level in HR field or equivalent work experience and knowledge in a range of areas e.g. Employee Relations, Organisational Development, Equality and Diversity, Learning and Development
  • Chartered Institute of Personnel Development Member (CIPD) or equivalent experience
  • Able to analyse, provide advice and manage highly complex and sensitive situations where there is often conflict
