Job summary:


Are you looking for an opportunity to join the UHB family? If so look no further than the Pre-Op Assessment Service, Solihull Hospital.

Due to the continued development and expansion of the service, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Assistant to join our well established and progressive team.


You will be the first face that the patients see and the first voice they will hear on the phone.

You will have excellent communication, IT and organizational skills with a willingness to learn and develop within the role. You will be expected to uphold and ensure high standards of professionalism are maintained and delivered with compassion.


A challenging and busy environment the Pre-Operative Assessment Service works within UHB as a specialist team preparing patients for surgery.

You will work as part of this team providing administration and co-ordination support for the clinics. This involves working closely with the nurses, anaesthetists, booking teams, secretaries and the wider multi-disciplinary team.


Main duties, tasks & skills required:
Your main duties will be to welcome and register the patients on arrival, informing the team they have arrived. Answering telephone calls regarding the clinics, forwarding any clinical queries to the nurse in charge.

Administrative duties include preparing the clinics for the following day, scanning of confidential patient information and liaising with the booking team.
