Teaching Assistant SEN Covering Partington, Salford, Stockport, Wincham, Altrincham& Northwich areas

Hours:
Normally :45; 40 or 08:00-16: hours per week (term time only)

Salary - £18,240 - £18,624 pro rata


Our client provides residential and respite facilities at a number of locations in Cheshire and South Manchester, We are assisting them with the recruitment of a Teaching Assistant for pupils with a Statement of Special Educational Needs.


The service offers specialist education and care for children and young people aged between years who experience autism and complex learning and behavioural needs.

The curriculum is informed by principles of outbound and situational learning, forthose who cannot cope with a traditional classroom setting.


Responsibilities of the post:


The Learning Support Assistant's (LSA) main role is to provide support for the pupils with a statement of special educational needs.

The LSA will ensure that the pupils can work towards the curriculum goals in a suitable manner to meet their needs.

Dutieswill include running specific programmes and activities to assist the pupil's individual learning and social needs. The LSA will be responsible for implementing the targets on the pupils' Individual Education Plan (IEP) in liaison with the Lead teacher


Experience/Knowledge:

  • Proven successful experience of working with children in an educational setting.
  • Experience of working with children whom have ASC's or LD's.
  • Have an understanding of the importance of lesson planning, IEPs and learning objectives to contribute to learning.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the importance of the school's Health and Safety policy.
  • Understanding of and commitment to work within the scope of the school's equal opportunities policy.

Qualifications:

  • A GCSE or O level of C or above in English and Maths.
  • A level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification would be desirable.
  • A willingness to continue professional development training if required for the role's effectiveness.
