About the job

I am currently working with a well established organisation who are investing in their data function and are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join their data engineering team.

This team sits alongside the Data Science team where you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience into areas such as machine learning, AI and advanced analytics.

You will join a team that is a vital part of the business and you will have the opportunity to personally contribute to the organisations end-to-end data solutions.

You will work to define standards across the team and establish effective ways of working.

This is an opportunity to work within an experienced and established data engineering team but also work across the organisation with stakeholders across multiple business units with the goal being to drive real business value for customers.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for some of the following areas.

Creation and development of data pipelines to the analytics and data science teams
Management of the team's agile delivery process
Line management responsibility for a team of engineers
Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and update on projects.

This is a salaried role paying up to £65,000 per annum depending on experience. This is a hybrid role based in the organisation's office in London.

To be successful in this role you will have.

Strong SQL experience
Experience developing in the Oracle space.
Experience working on migration projects from on premise to cloud based data platforms.
Previous experience leading a team and mentoring junior members of the team with technical development.
