We're looking for an Urban Rewilding Programme Officer to help us deliver our Urban Community Rewilding work in Derby._

  • A great opportunity to progress your career by leading the nature recovery aspects of the UK's largest urban rewilding project at Allestree Park in Derby. In this role you will be supported by a skilled project team to help deliver the wider urban landscape recovery programme, making significant contributions to nature recovery, climate action and wellbeing._
  • To be successful you will be passionate about placing people at the heart of nature and climate recovery in our urban landscapes._
This is a fixed term contract to 31st March 2027.


About you

This role might be right for you if:

  • You are passionate about nature recovery in our urban landscapes through a rewilding and nature-based solutions approach.
  • You are dynamic, organised and focused on achieving goals.
  • You have experience of preparing and delivering management plans and supporting monitoring and evaluation programmes.
  • You have practical handson experience of land management for nature conservation and able to work effectively and safely with volunteers.
  • You are a great communicator and able to inspire others with your enthusiasm and energy and can work collaboratively with a wide range of partners and audiences.
  • You are a conscientious budget holder, managing spend efficiently and always making environmentally conscious decisions on spend.
  • You have a full driving licence or ability to travel around the work area.

This role will be based at our office in Middleton although a balance of home and office working will be allowed.

We are a local charity so applicants should be easily able to access our office and other locations around the county.
