Birmingham - Hybrid after onboarding


Salary:
Up to £36,000 + Benefits


Contract/Permanent:
Permanent


Working Hours:
Rota based between 8am - 6pm


Hours per week: 37.5

THE JOB:


The role of a 2nd Line Engineer:

  • Working with multiple technologies and getting hands on experience with them
  • Troubleshooting a wide array of 2nd Line issues using technologies including Office 365, Hyper V, Windows and many others
  • Get hands on experience with bespoke technologies
  • Handling complex 2nd Line issues and acting as the escalation point for the 1st Line
  • Be the point of contact for complex troubleshooting issues and involves problem solving at the highest level
  • Management of 2nd Line issues

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:


Essential Skills:


  • Office 36
  • Knowledge of Outlook/Exchange Online and user administration


  • Networking

  • Worked with Firewalls, Switches, vLANs, routers and have troubleshooting experience with them (E.g. if the network goes down)
  • Hyper V/VMware
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues/knowledge of virtualisation


  • Windows/Windows Server

  • Experience with Windows and Windows Server, having worked with any version

Additional Technical experience that is desired:

  • Working in an MSP environment
  • Experience within a fastpaced environment
  • Azure and Azure Active Directory
  • Mac OS


  • Intune

  • Mobile Device Management
  • Any Certifications

Soft Skills:


  • Reliable can work in a team but also by themselves
  • Team player
  • Customer Service clear communication skills and able to articulate easily
