Job Description:


As the Front of House Porter you will provide a portering services to all patients, consultants and visitors to the hospital as required.

This will include taking patients and visitors to their rooms, transferring patients between hospital departments, delivery of mail, equipment and materials and ensuring the safety and security of everyone within our hospital.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist patients with their portering requirements in a professional and friendly manner
  • Room admissions of patients
  • Assist all staff with patient transfers
  • Hospital blood rounds
  • Collection and disposal of refuse (including clinical waste and sharps)
  • Sort and deliver all mail and manage postage
  • Assist in managing Medical Gas
  • Assisting the undertakers' team
  • Medicine and fluid delivery/ storage
  • Ensure the security and/or confidentiality of all items and information handled
  • Carry out security/fire patrols of all internal and external Hospital Buildings, and to ensure all incidents are recorded in the correct manner
Skills and Experience

  • Physically fit, able to lift heavy items when required
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Excellent communication and customer skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
