GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a vastly successful, innovative engineering company in Kidderminster, that has a new and exciting manufacturing facility onsite.

We are recruiting for an experienced Engine Test Cell Operative to support an exciting new contract within the business.

This would suit an individual with experience in heavy manufacturing, strong test experience, engine building and automotive gearbox knowledge.


To be considered for this role you must have a strong understanding and experience of engine assembly and operation and demonstrate experience of automotive fault diagnostics.


Test Operative main duties:

  • Initially supporting development of the testing process
  • Day to day operation of the test cell
  • First line identification and diagnosis of faults and supporting the team to resolve
  • Effectively logging, monitoring, and retesting all defects found during testing
  • First line maintenance of the test cell
  • Focus on meeting line output targets and deliveries
  • Continue and improve initiatives to reduce waste and optimize efficiency
  • Assisting the engineering team to evaluate processes and performance
  • Contribute to the constant improvement philosophy
  • Implementing and maintaining 5S

Test Operative required skills and experience:

  • Understanding and experience of engine assembly and operation
  • Experience of automotive fault diagnostics
  • Be a selfmotivated selfstarter who can work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to take a leading role as an integral part of a team.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Outstanding organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience of adherence to operational, quality and safety processes

You will be offered a salary up to £45,000 which will be commensurate with experience, plus additional company benefits.

Working hours are Monday - Friday with an early finish on a Friday of 12:30pm.
