I am recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing manufacturing business in the Bridgend area who due to an internal promotion is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its friendly team.


The role will report into the Head of Finance and the main responsibilities will be to co-ordinate and maintain the credit control accuracy, as well as other associated tasks to include customer invoice queries, credit limits.

The role will assist in thereduction of bad debts and help control the working capital within the business in line with their strategy.

The role will also deal with Cash forecasting accuracy whilst supporting the Head of Finance in order to achieve business objectives.


Main responsibilities with include -

  • Oversee the credit control functions
  • Resolve customer invoice queries
  • Review purchase ledger payment runs for supplier statement reconciliation and appropriate management sign off
  • Month end tasks including Journals and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Review aged debtors with Head of Finance on a weekly basis
  • Maintain the customer database, credit limits and insurance
  • Preparation of all payments (to include BACS, CHAPS and manual cheques) and posting of payment entries to the Nominal Ledger
  • Production of weekly cash flow report (3 month rolling forecast) to include cooperation with PL staff to ensure on time completion to review stage with Head of Finance
  • Preparation and submission of the quarterly UK company VAT returns
  • Ad Hoc requests to support Head of Finance and the overall business
You will possess good Excel skills and have knowledge of Pivots & VLookUps.

  • Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.30am 5pm, with 30 mins for lunch. Fridays you will be able to finish at 3pm.
  • The role will be based predominately in the office but on special occasions with permission you will be allowed granted the ability to WFH.
  • Holiday entitlement starts at 23 days plus Ban Hols and rises to 25 days after 2 years' service
  • Death is service x5 of salary
  • Pension is 3% and 4%
