An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 HPB Support Worker to work closely with the HPB Nurse Specialists.

The HPB CNS team supports patients with suspected or confirmed cancers and benign conditions of the Liver, Pancreas, Gallbladder and Bile Ducts.

We are looking for a HPB Support Worker to assist with administrative duties.

The HPB Nurse Specialists are a small team that works well together and adopt a supportive approach.

We have been given the opportunity to expand our team and develop a service that suit the needs of our patients.

This is an exciting development, as we are looking to increase our Nurse Led Clinics and Cancer Surveillance Programs.


The focus of this role is to undertake administrative tasks required to support the HPB Clinical Nurse Specialist team based at Queens Campus.

The post holder will be expected to ensure set administrative tasks are completed within specific timescales and will need to demonstrate a flexible approach to the job, providing support with navigating HPB patient pathways.


The post holder will need be confident and competent with speaking to patients via telephone, taking messages, updating patient pathway data and providing information within your own scope to patients and the wider team.

Demonstration of excellent written and verbal communication is paramount.

In undertaking this role, the employee will be expected to behave at all times that are consistent with and actively supports the Trust values.


KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Support with administrative task for the Nurse-Led Colorectal Liver Metastasis surveillance programme - including monitoring patient pathway, checking NUH ICT systems for appointments and communicating to HPB CNS team and Nottingham Treatment Centre appointment team.

Use judgement and initiative to prioritise the importance/urgency of particular requests within defined guidelines


To answer telephone calls to the HPB CNS office - take clear messages and communicate effectively to the HPB CNS team.
