Description

Simpson Judge are looking for a proficient Assistant Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis with a view to leading our successful accounts team and reporting directly to our Financial Controller within approximately 12 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to further their career in a growing organisation, managing an accounts team to achieve their goals.

Must be AAT qualified, part ACCA/CIMA qualified or qualified by experience.

We are looking for someone with experience in an all-round accounts role, preferably including practice experience.

Working hours are 40 per week, Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 4.45pm and Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm office based with a team of approx.

3 experienced accounts peopel

General responsibilities include:

Preparing the monthly management accounts, including departmental profit & loss and group balance sheet reports.
You will be part of the team in charge of ensuring month end close is accurate and timely.
Month end/weekly processing, including payment runs, payroll preparation, PAYE, CIS & quarterly VAT returns.
Bank reconciliations, payroll compliance, maintenance of the fixed asset register, and assistance with audit.
Extracting information from internal systems, producing summaries and departmental reporting.
Participation in projects with perspectives on profitability and other matters.
Managing members of the accounting team to reach shared goals and deadlines.
Dealing with any accounting queries, internally and externally.
Using our accounts system Xero and accompanying reporting software Fathom.
Professional approach and the ability to extract data and present information accurately and in a clear and concise manner.
AAT qualified or part ACCA/CIMA qualified, desirable but not essential depending on experience.
Ability to work independently, using own initiative, or as part of a team.
Excellent organisational and problemsolving skills.
Numerate and analytical.
Enthusiastic and motivated with a 'cando' attitude
