As a Kitchen Assistant with ISS UK, you will be at the heart of the action and will play a key role in our catering operation, assisting with the preparation and service of food while keeping an excellent standard of cleanliness and safety.


In this role, you will provide support in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages plus related catering duties.


The Role

  • To prepare the dining area which may include moving and setting up furniture, setting trolleys and the cleaning and dismantling of these as required.
  • To prepare the service area, hot cupboards and other equipment in the dining centre for the efficient and effective service of the meal.
  • To assist in the preparation, cooking, serving of food and beverages as defined by the client and within nutritional guidelines.
  • To wash dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, serving utensils, containers, tables, and all other catering equipment in the dining centre.
  • To serve food according to the style and type of operation as defined by the client.
  • To clean on a daily basis all catering areas to standards laid down by the client as directed.
  • To maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene in order to meet company regulations and standards.
  • To maintain ISS standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety in the kitchen and associated areas including the dining and service areas.
  • Work as part of a motivated and passionate team
  • Deliver the highest standard of customer care

About You

  • Enthusiastic approach to work
  • Catering experience is preferred but a positive, cando attitude is essential
  • Good understanding of the principals of food hygiene
  • You can follow instructions but are not scared to make your own decisions for what's best for the customer
  • Making sure the customer come first, ensuring their experience is an exceptional one one
  • A determined team player who works well with others
  • Undertake Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Previous training in Food Safety and Health & Safety or willingness to be trained in these areas.
