About the role
- If you are familiar with York, or who have even just visited the City for the day, you will have seen our Road Train, which ferries visitors between the National Railway Museum and the City Centre. We are now looking for a parttime Road Train Guard to join the team.
- As a Road Train Guard, you will be engaging with and assisting visitors, ensuring they have a great day out. Managing the tickets, queries and general service for the experience, you will also pay close attention to health and safety.
You will also be involved in maintenance checks and cleaning of the famous train to ensure it's looking great and running smoothly.
With this will be the opportunity to work towards obtaining a PCV licence and driving the Road Train, if interested.
You will work an average of 14 hours per week on a 2-week rolling rota. The shift pattern is as follows- Week 1: Sat + Sun, 14.5hrs; Week 2: Mon + Tues, 13.5hrs
About you
- You will have excellent customer service skills, a flexible approach and an appreciation of the outdoors the Road Train runs all year round, in rain or shine
You will also have the ability to think on your feet and use initiative to solve problems, whilst working well in a diverse team, as well as independently and unsupervised when needed.
