  • 12 Month at £600/day
  • Interviewing immediately

A great opportunity for an IFRS 9 specialist to join a mid-tier bank in London as Technical Accountant for 12 months Great opportunity with hybrid working and great commercial exposure.


Responsibilities of the role:

  • Ownership of back processes and numbers around IFRS 9 P/L and balance sheet
  • Monthly IFRS9 model analysis and governance
  • Monthly ECL calculation GL booking
  • Monthly impairment analysis
  • Monthly concise reporting of the above to identify operational drivers for change
  • Working closely with Credit Risk, Operations and Wider Finance
  • Ensure compliance with regulation
  • Work closely with relevant persons to ensure IFRS 9 models meets requirement through changing circumstances
  • Preparation and review of monthly Accounting papers for various committees/boards
  • Technical accounting support on strategies for a 'changing' company
  • Working closely with external auditors for IFRS 9 modelling and processing
  • Broader technical accounting discussions with lead Auditor
  • Review of BAC technical judgement papers
  • Review of all statutory account disclosures

Experience:


  • Strong technical accounting and analytical ability with very close attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex numbers/data into understandable proposals/presentations/discussions for senior stakeholders and management
  • Understand the importance of accuracy and detail requirements around IFRS 9 reporting
  • Excellent spoken English
  • Excellence in writing clear and concise reports
  • Ability to present financial information confidently and clearly including at high level (delivering information to board members and executives)
  • Excellent competence in managing and delivering under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and lead a team
  • Hands on experience with micro and macro level detail
  • Able to identify and communicate risks to timelines, and process this to management professionally
  • People and stakeholder management experience is essential
