What will my role look like?


The Head of Finance -SSC is responsible for leading the SSC Finance Team across both Financial Control and Commercial Finance for the shared service centre business costs, covering departments such as Finance, HR, IT, and centralised operations teams across multiple geographies.

Reporting to the Director of Commercial Finance & FP&A, this role is suited to an experienced finance professional that has both strong technical and commercial accounting experience.

The role will include developing a new team, rationalising and standardising processes, preparation of monthly management accounts and business partnering with senior business stakeholders.

What would my main responsibilities be?

Develop and Lead and SSC Finance Team including Management Accounts and Commercial Finance
Standardise and rationalise processes and ensure they are documented and satisfy the relevant financial control requirements
Ensure the team prepare monthly managements accounts using the relevant SAP systems and perform associated balance sheet reconciliations. Ensuring cost centre and GL posting accuracy across departments and entities, improving visibility of spend
Ensure the team prepare P&L visibility to department budget holders and hold regular meetings to discuss variance analysis and financial planning
Highlight potential cost saving opportunities and work with relevant departments on modelling and business cases to support controlling business costs
Feed into group consolidation of actuals, budget and forecast
Deliver the roll out of the purchase order process across departments with associated training, policy and approval matrix
Support the implementation of SAP and SAC tools as required
Support the Director of Commercial Finance & FP&A with ad-hoc duties as required

Professional Accounting Qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) or QBE, 5+ years finance experience and experience in a similar role is essential
Strong business acumen with broad experience across the finance function
Strong communication and business partnering skills, comfortable communicating to stakeholders across all levels and disciplines
Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment
Ability to multitask, and meet deadlines on a timely basis
Self-starter with a continual improvement attitude
Creativity, flexibility and an entrepreneurial mind-set to the solution of business issues
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong MS Office skills, Advanced Excel is essential. SAP Experience is desirable
