Description

At York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust we are passionate about supporting our staff and working with them to recognise and achieve their full potential within their roles.

A huge amount of work goes into making every new joiner's first days, weeks and months a positive experience, so that they can provide excellent care to our patients.

We now have an opportunity which places extra special emphasis on our new joiner's experience.

2019 saw the inception of an International Nurse recruitment campaign and to date we have welcomed over 400 new nurses to our Trust.

Our International Nurses have made a significant and positive impact to our organisation and to patient care.

Due to the success of this campaign we are continuing with this programme of recruitment by expanding our International Recruitment Team and offering someone the unique opportunity to become part of this department.

This International Team sits within the wider Recruitment Team and you will work closely with the Trust's Chief Nurse team, the Practice Education team and a wide range of stakeholders.

This is not a 9am to 5pm role.

The nurses can arrive out of normal working hours, sometimes on a weekend, so a flexible approach to the working week is required.

In additional to the recruitment element of the programme, we also offer ongoing pastoral support to our overseas nurses.

We intend to expand this pastoral care to other international arrivals at the Trust and this will form an integral part of your role.

If you are a strong administrator and would like to work within the International Recruitment Team to help continue the delivery of the project, then we would love to hear from you.

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is situated in a fantastic part of the country that is home to two national parks, a beautiful coastline, and the city of York - consistently voted one of the best places to live in the UK.

We provide a comprehensive range of acute hospital and specialist healthcare services for approximately 800,000 people living in and around York, North Yorkshire, North East Yorkshire and Ryedale - an area covering 3,400 square miles.

Our annual turnover is approaching £0.5bn.

We manage eight hospital sites and have a workforce of around 10,000 staff working across our hospitals and in the community.

A full description of the role is available in the attachment: job description.
