Accounts Assistant


We are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our team in our award-winning business at Auchincruive near Ayr.

Our Accounts team works hard in supporting the European, Middle Eastern, African & Indian (EMEAI) territories for NEOGEN, a top performing NASDAQ listed business employing around 1800 people worldwide.

The team is office based at our European head offices in Auchincruive.


What you'll be doing:

  • Processing purchase invoices in the accounting system (Sage 200).
  • Ensuring 3way matching electronically of purchase orders, goods receipt notes and purchase invoices.
  • Accuracy of PO/Invoice coding/matching/authorisation.
  • Validate outstanding POs/invoice queries.
  • Supplier Statement reconciliations.
  • Proactively resolving invoice variances/queries with suppliers and operations.
  • Coding nonPO invoices and ensuring all invoices are duly authorised.
  • Perform regular housekeeping checks and ensure ledgers are tidy.
  • Dealing with auditor requests.
  • Working to meet deadlines in accordance with monthend closedown timetable.
  • Answer telephone, redirect calls and take messages.
  • Assist visitors to the business, ensuring they follow correct procedures for signing in.
  • Any other relevant duties.

About you:

  • You have previous experience in an Accounts role with general experience.
  • You are able to work in a fast paced office with a high volume of tasks to be completed.
  • You are able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise your workload.
  • You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft packages.
  • Knowledge of SAGE & SAP systems would be an advantage, although training will be provided.
