HR Generalist
Offering £30,000 - £35,000 Basic Salary + Benefits
Our client is an established manufacturing and distribution centre based in the Thirsk area. Currently recruiting an experienced HR Generalist, responsible for delivering a professional on-site HR service throughout a fast-paced facility.
HR Generalist - Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and robust first line advice and information to management and employees within the business
- Assist and support managers with investigations and disciplinaries
- Ensure that the organisation is operating under legally compliant HR policies and procedures and where necessary review and roll out policies in line with employment law and best practice
- Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
- Prepare contracts of employment, letters of offer, new starter paperwork and right to work and reference checks for all new starters
- Support the Head of HR in the recruitment of management positions
- Take responsibility for the new starter and induction process
- Assist the Site Manager in creating a detailed training plan for new starters
- Carry out exit interviews and periodic stay interviews
- Advise on pay and other remuneration issues and assist with weekly payroll processes
- Provide regular and periodic information to Head of HR on absenteeism, recruitment, employee relations, organisational changes, issues and concerns
- Ensure absence is monitored and procedures followed, including return to work interviews and arranging absence review meetings.
- Promote and coordinate site social, health, safety & wellbeing initiatives
- Arrange occupational health referral appointments and work with third party provider
- Support the coordination of the annual health surveillance in conjunction with HSE Advisor and Production Manager
- Work effectively and collaboratively with the wider HR team and the organisation to achieve overall team goals and objectives
- Work with Departmental Managers and L&D Manager to review training & development requirement and plans for staff
- Making sure training and staff appraisals are carried out, collated and logged
HR Generalist - Skills & Experience
- Experienced HR Generalist
- CIPD certification ideally or working towards
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, challenging manufacturing environment
- An effective communicator who is confident working on own autonomy
Working onsite at our client's Thirsk site with flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week dependant up on the needs of the business.
