Job Summary:

KIMS Hospital is the largest independent hospital in Kent and we are recruiting. We have an exciting opportunity for an Inventory & Stores Control Assistant to join our Purchasing & Stores Department.


As an Inventory & Stores Control Assistant, you will be part of team responsible for providing day to day operational support throughout the entire Hospital.

Your role will involve processing and expediting of orders, receipting of deliveries, distribution of consumables and other products throughout the hospital thus, making this an active and varied role.


Role Responsibilities include:


  • Using provided electronic systems (scanner) to accurately and timely generate replenishments of stock throughout the hospital ensuring efficient replenishment of clinical and nonclinical requirements
  • To assist with picking consumables proactively for daily use. Using provided electronic systems to accurately generate and release picking list
  • Working under the guidance of the Purchasing and Stores Manager and the Lead Inventory and Stores Control Officer (LISCO) to provide day to day stores and administrative support to the Purchasing and Stores team
  • Accurately receive deliveries and process all paperwork according to company procedures and policies, while at the same time flagging up short delivered goods in relation to KIMS purchase orders.

Person Specification:


  • Have demonstrable relevant experience within an administrative role, preferably within a purchasing/stores team
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Be computer literate, with the ability to use and learn multiple systems confidently
  • Have a GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English
  • Be an organised and diligent employee, who is seeking an active and varied role
