Sales Estimator

Swinton Manchester

Up to £35K per Annum (DOE)
Our Client is one of the leading providers in the fire and security industry in the United Kingdom.

They offer a range of services including the design, supply, installation, commission, service and maintenance of alarm systems throughout the United Kingdom.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in our Swinton office.


Key Tasks:


  • Service Work quotations ( replacement parts / system additions / system upgrades )
  • Working from Customer and engineers descriptions/drawings to produce detailed quotations.
  • Producing accurate and detailed cost estimates.
  • Create full routing information including labour and material costing.
  • Undertake calculations required to validate system designs.
  • Liaise with helpdesk / Engineers and Customers as required.
  • Input all information into the Database system in order to produce full quotations to the customer.
  • Monitoring enquiries within the company and speaking direct with customers.
  • Building relationships with customer to get repeat enquiries.
  • Carry out site surveys for the purpose of creating proposals and quotations
  • O&M Preparation
  • Liaising with Operations team to ensure smooth transition between Design & Commissioning
  • Attend internal and external design meeting

Personal Specifications:


  • Previous experience within an Estimator role with experience in a fire and security industry desirable.
  • Competent in using CAD/CAM Software is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Fire Protection Systems.
  • FIA training is desirable
  • Knowledge of Emergency Lights Systems.
  • Knowledge of Access / CCTV and Intruder Systems.
  • Mechanical / Electrical engineering background
  • Experience working on a variety of contracts and quoting from detailed engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office
