Actuarial Manager 12-month Fixed Term Contract - Starting salary between £70,000, - £80,000


A 12-month opportunity has arisen within the Capital Monitoring & Forecasting (CMF) Programme in the Business Readiness workstream, supporting the new COMPASS Production team.

COMPASS is the new tool launched at HY to calculate UK Life Capital Sensitivities.
COMPASS will continue to expand into new markets and processes over the next 12 months.

This role will be in the production team, who have a dual responsibility:
meetingthe BAU demands of the released capabilities and supporting the implementation of new capabilities.


A bit about the job:

The Capital Monitoring & Forecasting programme is responsible for improving our capital reporting processes.

Focussing on more regular hard closes of the SCR, building a new sensitivity and forecasting system, and standardising our Group processes.

This role will support the COMPASS Production senior manager in both a BAU and implementation capacity.


The role can be done from any location (must be within commuting distance of one of our key offices in Bristol or York) and under flexible working arrangements.


Skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Qualified actuary (or equivalent by experience) and experience of Solvency
  • Strong technical actuarial skills to review and understand impacts as well as strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work innovatively to develop solutions to fresh analytical problems
  • Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with colleagues from across the Group
  • Good communication skills ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders to understand their requirements and to explain impacts

What you'll get for this role:
