Description

We are looking for someone who is interested in gaining the experience and skills to pursue a career in libraries and/or health education and training, or is intending to proceed to a postgraduate library/information studies course.

You will work in our Health Library and Education Centre in Cumbria, with occasional travel to our other Health Library and Education Centre in Whitehaven.

The successful applicant will be part of a team serving the health community in North Cumbria.


This is a one year fixed-term training post, which incorporates a wide range of library duties including customer service, information provision, project work, and providing administrative support to the work of Patient Information Advisory Group, as well as facilities support to the wider Education Centres.

The post holder is based at the Library at the Cumberland Infirmary (CIC) with an expectation that they will work at other sites when required.

The role provides a daily presence and participates in the day to day activities of the library and will directly support the Quality and Patient Safety agenda, evidence based healthcare, research, clinical audit, and continuing professional development.
