The role
The Financial Times is seeking an HR Assistant for our Editorial department.


This is a hands-on role which requires a highly organised and flexible individual to work closely with Editorial Management and the HR Services Team to ensure effective and timely delivery of HR administration around the full employee life cycle.


Key responsibilities:

  • Monthly payroll processing
  • Prompt and accurate employee data management in Workday (HR Information System)
  • Working closely with Global Mobility team ensuring timely and accurate processing of overseas assignments
  • All administrative requirements for the Editorial HR team
  • Responding to general employee queries (2 day rotation managing the HR Services Inbox)
  • Managing the new starter process (creating offer letters/contracts, collating new starter documentation, etc.)
  • Creating promotion/transfer/salary increase letters
  • Advising on Company benefits
  • Updating HR shared documents
  • Monitoring of probation periods
  • Coordinating the leaver process
  • Conducting weekly benefit's induction for new starters and conducting monthly new joiner induction (as per rota schedule)
  • Reviewing and improving internal processes where possible

  • The ability to work accurately, with strong attention to detail
  • Confident in dealing with colleagues of all seniorities
  • Ability to prioritise a busy workload and work to deadlines
  • Experience working as an HR Assistant/Administrator
  • Payroll processing experience
  • Advanced Excel

How we work
Our hybrid setup means staff are expected to come into the office 3 days a week.

Our office is located across the street from St. Paul's Cathedral and is easily accessible from all corners of London.

There are the main train terminals such as Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Blackfriars, City Thameslink or Waterloo all situated within walking distance or there are several tube stations within a few mins walk such as Mansion House (District or Circle line), St.

Paul's (Central line), Bank (Central or Waterloo & City line) or Barbican (Central, Hammersmith & City or Metropolitan lines).
