IT Buyer/Category Manager

£500 - £600 Per Day (Inside IR35)

Reading - Hybrid Working


Our client, a national recognised financial services company are looking for a seasoned IT procurement professional to come and join their team in Reading.


You Will be Responsible For:


  • Developing and renewing contracts with new and existing suppliers
  • Take 'Lead Buyer' responsibility for IT category driven projects
  • Work with colleagues to evaluate and confirm supplier selection
  • Negotiate commercial arrangements and IT agreements with selected suppliers
  • Support the Procurement Manager in the delivery and execution of the IT procurement strategy
  • Assist with market and financial analysis to create an IT procurement category strategy that is aligned to business requirements
  • Experience of working in Procurement and managing IT Category spend and suppliers
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship and team building skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Proficiency in using procurement related IT tools and systems
  • Analytical skills to evaluate needs/opportunities
  • Experience and proficiency in drafting and negotiating contracts
  • CIPS qualification
