About the Department

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior People Advisor to join our People Operations team.

About the role


As a Senior People Advisor, you will support the work of the People Team in the provision of a comprehensive, efficient and high quality administrative and advice service by providing a link between the department and key customers in all Schools and Professional Services.

A key part of this role is managing day to day to recruitment, ensuring process are appropriate, continually updated and fit for purpose.

In addition, you will specialise in areas of compliance including safeguarding and immigration and play a key role with job evaluation and other reward initiatives.

You will also deputise for the People Operations Team Leader as required.

The People Operations Team is a busy, customer-focused environment and this role will enable you to work co-operatively and supportively in a diverse team of professional colleagues.


The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate experience of advising managers on a wide range of HR issues and have a sound knowledge of employment legislation and policies, in particular, understanding and/or practical experience of dealing with the operational and legislative requirements regarding pre-employment and right to work checks.


Possessing a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, you will facilitate the recruitment and selection process, providing advice to recruiting managers, acting as a key contact to support maintenance of the Resourcing Hub (our recruitment system).

You will also support the People Operations Team Leader and Delivery Manager to deliver the People Team Strategy with regards to systems and processes, participating in any specific projects as required.

Applicants must be CIPD qualified (or equivalent) or be working towards this. They must also be pro-active in their approach and be able to use their initiative to resolve issues.

Experience of working in sensitive and confidential situations is vital due to the nature of the work.
