Fleet Field Engineer

Full time, Permenant

Ipswich, Suffolk

Salary up to £43,000


I am currently partnered with a local business who are looking to recruit for a Fleet field engineer on a full-time permanent basis.

This role is based in Ipswich, IP9 and would suit someone who has proven industry experience, and who also holds a minimumof 5 years of experience as a fully trained technician.

You will be a great communicator, in particular by telephone.


What is the day-to-day of the role:

  • To manage a network of approved repair agents for Service, MOT, and compliance events.
  • To work with the FMC team to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.
  • To manage meetings with customers within their area of annual review of performance.
  • Plan and minute meetings with service providers, to review agreed SLA'S AND KPI's.
  • Check labour and parts are charged at the correct rates and times.
  • Provide details for warranty process, and claims.
  • Provide support to the breakdown team as and when required.
  • Liase with the customers and agree end of lease costs where applicable.
  • Provide support to the sales team on an ad hoc basis.

Required skills and experience:


You will ideally have proven industry experience, and also qualifications in City and Guilds level 1 & 2 Automotive Maintenance / Maintenance Engineering and repair.

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a fully trained technician and will have good communicationskills and will be friendly and approachable and capable of building good relationships and fostering existing relationships.
