Our triage and Maternity Advice Line Service is currently undergoing a huge service transformation including a single point of contact for telephone triage and the implementation of the BSOTS triaging system.
Main duties of the job

You will assess, implement and evaluate care delivered, so that the women's individual requirements for care are met in all aspects of midwifery.
You will provide acute emergency care and fetal surveillance to women and their families in the antenatal and postnatal periods.
You will practice in accordance with professional, ethical and legal framework for midwifery and work within Trust guidelines, policies and procedures when carrying out midwifery care.

The Maternity service is delivered across two Hospital sites and community providing care for approximately 8500 births annually.

The post holder will be required to deliver safe, quality midwifery care, antenatally and postnatally to women and their families whilst developing key triaging skills, abilities and experience in an acute emergency area.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife
- Evidence of recent relevant CPD
- Diploma/Degree
- Mentoring Course/SSA
- Master's Degree
- Possession of a teaching qualification
Essential criteria
- Ability to work Cross site when required
Desirable criteria
- Current UK driving license
Essential criteria
- Able to identify risks and respond to problem situations and to ensure that effective escalation and interventions are put in place
- Demonstrates an ability to organise own work schedule managing time effectively and displays initiative
- Proven ability to deliver to deadlines
