LSE Fellow in Philosophy of Science and Physics

Salary from £40,229 to £48,456 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £52,095 pa inclusive of London allowance.

This is a career development position and is fixed term for two years and is expected to commence in September 2024.

An LSE Fellowship is intended to be an entry route to an academic career and is deemed by the School to be a career development position. As such, applicants who have already been employed as a LSE Fellow for three years in total are not eligible to apply. If you have any queries about this, please contact the HR Division._

***The Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method is committed to doing excellent research and teaching in philosophy in a manner that is continuous with the social and natural sciences and is socially relevant. It is also committed to creating an inclusive environment for philosophical debate that engages with a wide range of perspectives.

A completed PhD (or a PhD near completion) in Philosophy or another discipline relevant to the teaching areas listed above by the post start date;
A developing, highquality research record in Philosophy relevant to the teaching areas listed above;
Excellent communication and presentation skills;
A proven commitment to excellent teaching and to fostering a positive learning environment for students, as evidenced by feedback from students and colleagues;
The ability to work in close partnership with fellow teachers, and to provide effective support to students, as necessary.
